Original Round Top Antiques Fair
|
|
Join us September 29, 30, October 1 & 2, 2010. This is the show where it all began! The 30,000 square foot Big Red Barn features the highest quality dealers in Texas primitives, sterling silver and estate jewelry, vintage quilts and textiles, art prints, European and American antiques, Western art and artifacts, kitchenalia, country store and old advertising items, art glass and much, much more. "People went wild at the new giant air-conditioned Continental Tent," exclaimed Susan Franks. "Everyone is looking forward to shopping it again, along with all of our four show venues."
Owner of the Original Round Top Antiques Fair shows, Susan Franks and her husband, Bo, expanded their Big Red Barn venue recently to include the revamped White Tent and the huge Continental Tent. People lined up in droves to get a peek at the quality antiques packed inside.
"This year we celebrate opening day with a party for our shoppers," says Susan. "We serve refreshments to our guests and dealers stay open late (from 5 to 7 p.m.) at all three locations," she explains. "The longer hours and relaxed atmosphere allows visitors to socialize with the show's dealers as they pick up tips for decorating with antiques in their own homes," she says.
The Original Round Top Antiques Fair is known as one of the most important events not only in the area, but in the entire country as well. Top-notch dealers come from as far away as New England, California, and even overseas, with breath-taking selections of vintage sterling, country store items, English majolica, original oil paintings, unusual folk art pieces, fine furniture, period lighting, and much more. Buyers have come to recognize that if they are seeking the best of the best, this show is a must see.
Also recently added to the venue is a free shuttle service that whisks customers and their treasures back and forth between the Red Barn location in Round Top and the charming Carmine Dance Hall venue just off Highway 290. "The Dance Hall is our hidden jewel," says Susan. "It offers out-of-the-ordinary antiques, fabulous silver, smalls, accessories, and country furniture."
Along with the amazing displays of antiques, all four locations serve incredible delectable delights for those who have worked up an appetite. The Red Barn features food fare catered by the famous Royers Round Top Cafe in an enclosed tent between the Barn and White Tent. Join them for comfort food and out-of-this-world pies. The Carmine Dance Hall offers traditional German barbecue, including locally made sausage, fresh pork and beef, and homemade desserts.
With porters available to carry items to the car, shippers on site to handle large items, air-conditioned structures, and free parking, shoppers can enjoy a memorable experience while finding exactly the right treasures to enhance their homes for years to come. Paid admission good at all four locations, ample free parking. NO early buying. Contact Susan Franks for more info: P.O. Box 180, Smithville, TX 78957
