Fayetteville: year-round home of LIVE acoustic music--from bluegrass to polka to classical. Antique Shows Spring & Fall, Art Walk in May, Bicycle Races and Rides, July City-wide Garage Sale, October Lickskillet Days and December Country Christmas.
In the early 1800's Fayetteville was a stagecoach stop on the Bastrop to San Felipe Trail. The area was settled in the late 1820's by members of Stephen F. Austin's Colony. German immigrants (1840's) were followed by Czechs (1850's) and to this day those early settlers' culture remains a very important part of the town's history and heritage.
Downtown Fayetteville boasts over 340 structures on the National Register of Historic Places along with numerous Texas Historic Markers within the city limits. The town is recognized for both its architectural and historical significance. Fabulous finds abound in Fayetteville! Great antiques, PLUS shops, cozy B&Bs, festivals, home-cooked food, and wholesome family fun, all in one great town. There's no place like Fayetteville! Tel. 1-888-575-4553.
